If you just run in and start taming, you are the default target, but if someone heals you, that causes threat and the hound runs off. While taming, you have to have to be the hounds target, otherwise it breaks. The hunters on our trip were all level 70 and their health barely lasted through the core hound's attacks during the taming time. Once that is done, you have a shot at getting a tame done. To get to the first core hound's patrol path, you will need to drop four molten giants, three fire elementals and a fast patrolling rock elemental. What it gets down to, is that you want a tank, some dps and a healer with you. The mobs have about 120k or so health, so will take some burning down and are impractical without a tank. For a level 61 hunter, they area definite problem though, you will need help.
You still have to look at their abilities - like the ever multiplying adds for the fire elementals that you have to kill - but they are essentially weak because they keep their level. Firstly, my epic'ed out tankadin did not take any damage from the MC trash. So I can give you some information on how it goes. (): Core Hound now has 5 Health, up from 4.To help four hunters from my guild tame their core hounds, a bunch of people went to MC yesterday. You just train it to eat someone else before it eats you." You just train it not to eat you." to "You don’t tame a Core Hound. (): Flavor text changed from "You don’t tame a core hound.
#HOW TO GET CORE HOUND HUNTER PET PATCH#
Patch 8.6 (): Rarity changed from Common to Free.Year of the Gryphon rotation (): Moved from Basic to Legacy set.The artwork for this card comes from the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game "Molten Core Raid Deck" series, for the card Ancient Core Hound. While keeping one of these critters probably makes apartment hunting a chore, there’s no better four-legged friend to have when your back is up against the wall. Unfortunately, when a magma giant thinks “cuddly,” he checks off a list that includes things like “giant,” “two-headed,” “fang-mawed,” and “made of living magma.” The only beings dwelling in the elemental plane of fire who match that description are the terrifying core hounds.
In Hearthstone It turns out that elemental lords are fond of keeping pets. However, they have also lived alongside their master Ragnaros in the Molten Core, and more recently attempted to invade Mount Hyjal. Core hounds originate from the Firelands of the Elemental Plane. The oldest and most powerful of the core hounds is Magmadar, the alpha male and sire of the entire current pack, and every core hound can trace their lineage back to Magmadar. A streak of flames runs down its spine from head to stubby tail. Its body is covered with armored hide and studded with bony spikes. A core hound is a giant elemental beast, with the appearance of a massive bulldog with two heads, each equipped with a mouth filled with rows of flaming teeth. Being also a Beast, it may be a better choice for a Beast-themed deck than the Core Hound, unless you are looking for a very powerful minion to go for the face and not for one that is going to stay on the board for a while and provide Beast-synergy for various cards, like Kill Command. Likewise, the warrior spell Charge can be used with Core Hound on turn 8 for a powerful damage burst, though it can only target minions.Ĭaptured Jormungar is a Core Hound with its stats reversed. Its high Attack does however makes it a good target for effects like Windfury.Īs a Beast, Core Hound has synergy with hunter Beast-synergy cards such as Houndmaster, which can turn this already threatening card into a monstrous Taunt, and Tundra Rhino, which if previously summoned can allow a 9 damage charging minion from the Core Hound to swing a game. It is usually only usable late in a game because of its high mana cost, and while a Taunt minion might help it survive, by the time both players have 7 mana, the opponent will likely have access to removal spells that will cheaply remove the threat.
In the current game, Core Hound is generally considered a poor card.
